Online Donation FAQ
Is it safe to donate online?
Yes! Our donation page is safe and secure. We will not divulge your information to anyone else, and we will keep your donation confidential if you ask us to do so.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes! We are a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization, and your donation is tax deductible to the extent of the law. Please keep your donation receipt for your tax records.
Do I get a receipt?
Yes! We mail out receipt letters as soon as possible, unless you request a year-end statement only. If we send ongoing receipts, we do not send year-end statements unless specifically requested.
Should I donate food or funds?
Anything helps! Funds allow us to purchase the food we need most using our bulk discounts, so your dollar will stretch further and be used where it’s most needed. Food donations provide a wider variety of food for our customers, and are a great way to clean out your pantry and help a family in need at the same time!
Can I give a monthly donation?
Yes! Just click on the “Donate Monthly” button, and your credit card will be charged on the same date every month until you cancel it.
How do I update my monthly donation information or change the amount?
Email our Administrative Director, Carla Stewart at carla@svfoodbank.org, or call her at (360) 794-7959 to make any changes or to cancel your ongoing donation.
Can I make a donation in honor or in memory of someone?
Yes! Just enter the information about your honoree when prompted, and we will send an acknowledgement card to the address you provide.
Where do I send cash donations?
You can mail a check to the Sky Valley Food Bank at P.O. Box 724, Monroe, WA 98272. If you have cash, you can bring it in during any of the hours we are open.
Food Donation FAQ
Where do I drop off food?
You can bring food to the Food Bank during any of our donation hours. You can also leave non-perishable donations at one of our alternative drop-off sites.
What food do you need most? Is there anything you can’t accept?
Download our current list of most-needed foods. We are also always in need of health and hygiene items–download the most-needed toiletries list here. And most importantly of all, we are always collecting food for our emergency weekend backpacks for our school children–download the backpack foods list here. We love to receive your surplus fresh produce from your garden (please clean it first as we don’t have the facilities to do that here). We cannot accept packages of food that have been opened, or baby food that is past date. We do accept pet food as well as people food!
Do I need to tell you that I am having a food drive?
Yes, please! We want to make sure that we have all the information we need to thank and credit you. We also sometimes receive calls from the public during food drives from people wanting to make sure that their donation will get to us. If we know about your drive, we can reassure them that the food will be coming to us.
Do you have food barrels or promotional materials I can use for my food drive?
Yes! We have large and small barrels, crates, and coin jars for your use, along with yard signs, banners, and flyers for most-needed items. Just call, email, or stop by the Food Bank to pick them up.
